
Community Development Services reviews plans and issues permits for a wide array of Land Use and Construction Permits. Permits range from simple same day permits to complex development projects. The permit process includes permit application, plan review, contractor approval, and inspections to ensure compliance with current Building Codes, Pacific Municipal ordinances, and State and Federal laws. Required permits will depend on scope of work. For questions regarding permit submittal requirements, contact April Shrader, Permit Coordinator.

Inspections
Please note: Inspections are currently being scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Inspection requests must be received by 3pm prior to date of inspection.

King County’s Construction & Demolition Ordinance
NEW C&D Recycling Requirements: King County now requires that C&D (construction & demolition) materials be taken to a King County Designated Facility and has banned specific readily recyclable C&D materials from being disposed of in a landfill. A list of designated facilities and details on the bans can be found on the King County C&D website

Planning
The Planning Department oversees implementation of the General Plan and the General Plan Update, with guidance from The Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Ordinance, Design Guidelines and Specific Plans. Planning staff also utilize capital improvement planning and development agreements. The department also establishes development related policies and conducts environmental review and processing of private development applications for public hearings.
Our department interacts with other agencies, public groups and task forces, to promote beneficial planning for the community. The Planning Department is staff to the Planning Commission, and coordinates project design review through the City Council.
Planning staff works throughout the year tracking regional planning issues of local significance and making recommendations to the Planning Commission and City Council. Our department has two full time staff members.
